Ignition Systems
People just don't realize how crucial a properly functioning ignition system is for proper performance and to prevent engine damage! A high performance engine does not need a vacuum advance as it can pull extra total timing into your engine at cruise and light throttle and add too much total timing, causing engine damage! Vacuum advances are designed for low compression engines to add timing which increases gas milage a little bit. Problem is, just plugging the vacuum advance isn't enough as most OEM style distributors only have 18 degrees of mechanical advance. Setting the timing at 34 degrees or more can make the initial timing too high and either make the car hard to start or damage the starter/flywheel.
We have taken care of this problem and offer two units , depending on budget and need! BOTH units have no vacuum advance and 24 degrees of mechanical advance which means you can set total timing at 34 and crank on 10 like the factory setting! For low compression stock type engines, we can have the DUI unit done with 18 and vacuum if needed on special order!
