The valve train is one area in the Cadillac motor that is most in need
of improvement. The factory camshaft is a poor choice all around and
should be upgraded no matter what the application. The stock valve
springs are extremely weak, especially after thirty years of duty, and
tend to float above 4200-4400 RPMs. Worst of all, the factory rocker
system is prone to breakage. A broken stock rocker can result in losing
a lifter, which will result in no oil pressure and (most likely) engine
damage.
If you want to run a big cam or you care about engine longevity,
take a look at our valvetrain components. We carry a line of parts from
mild to wild to fit your budget and your needs.
